Pecan Pralines 

A classic Southern candy that’s sweet, creamy, and full of rich pecan flavor—perfect for gifting or enjoying at home. 

Ingredients: 

  • 2 cups granulated sugar 
     
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed 
     
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream 
     
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 
     
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped 
     
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 
     
  • Pinch of salt 
     

Instructions: 

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 
     
  1. In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, combine sugars, cream, butter, and salt. Stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil. 
     
  1. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until mixture reaches 238°F (soft-ball stage) on a candy thermometer. 
     
  1. Remove from heat and stir in pecans and vanilla. 
     
  1. Beat vigorously with a wooden spoon until mixture thickens and loses shine (about 3-5 minutes). 
     
  1. Quickly spoon dollops onto prepared baking sheet and allow to cool completely. 
     
  1. Store pralines in an airtight container.
