Conservation Corner 

Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar, born in 1825 in Georgia, became a prominent figure in American politics and conservation. After serving as a Confederate minister and facing personal losses during the Civil War, he was elected to Congress post-Reconstruction. Lamar played a key role in the 1876 election dispute. He died in 1893 while a Supreme Court member.
