I’ll See You at the Movies

Bad Guys 2

Bad Guys 2 is a wildly entertaining follow-up that manages to be even sharper, funnier, and more stylish than the first film. Where the original charmed audiences with its clever spin on the heist genre and lovable misfit crew, the sequel builds on that foundation with bigger stakes, bolder animation, and a story that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

The chemistry between the main characters remains the heart of the film. Their banter feels even more polished this time, balancing laugh-out-loud comedy with genuine emotional moments. The animation is gorgeous, sleek, vibrant, and full of energy, with action sequences that feel straight out of a graphic novel brought to life. The film also deepens its themes of trust, redemption, and friendship without ever losing its playful edge.

Fans of the first Bad Guys will not be disappointed, and newcomers will quickly be pulled into its fast-paced world of twists, gags, and heartfelt character growth. Bad Guys 2 proves that sequels can be fresh, engaging, and even more satisfying than their predecessors.

Simply put, it’s clever, stylish, and a total blast is one of the most fun animated films in recent memory.

I am giving this film three out of 4 stars. Go check it out!

Jaws

Few films can claim to have redefined cinema itself, but Jaws is one of them. Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece is not just a thriller it’s a primal experience that grips you from its haunting opening scene and never let’s go. With its perfect balance of suspense, terror, and humanity, Jaws is both a blockbuster spectacle and a timeless story of survival.

The true genius lies in its restraint. The shark, rarely seen in full until the climax, becomes a looming nightmare, amplified by John Williams’ iconic score two notes that can chill your blood instantly. Every shot, every sound, every moment of silence builds unbearable tension, proving that what you don’t see can be more terrifying than what you do.

But what makes Jaws endure isn’t just the fear, it’s the characters. Roy Scheider’s Brody, Richard Dreyfuss’ Hooper, and Robert Shaw’s unforgettable Quint form one of the most compelling trios in film history. Their banter, clashes, and camaraderie elevate the story beyond monster-movie thrills into something deeply human. By the time they sail out to face the beast, you’re not just rooting for survival, you’re invested in the very soul of the struggle.

The climax is legendary: man against nature, courage against fear, myth against mortality. When it’s over, you don’t just breathe a sigh of relief, you feel as though you’ve lived through the storm yourself.

Jaws isn’t just a film. It’s the birth of the summer blockbuster, a masterclass in suspense, and a testament to the power of storytelling. Nearly 50 years later, its teeth still sink deep.

I give this masterpiece a well-deserved five stars. Go check it out!

Now for the important stuff…THE SNACK BAR! I tried their new walking tacos and was not disappointed! Give them a try next time you are there!

The drive-in would like me to announce that every Thursday in October they will be showing a mystery horror-related movie! How neat is that? I would like to thank the Iuka Drive-In for hosting me once again. I would also like to thank the Tishomingo County News for allowing me to do what I love! I’ll see you at the movies!
